WHITE SOX/YANKEES SERIES RECAP, SOX/HALOS PREVIEW!

Wuz good world dis ya boi White Sox Real Talk checkin in after a VERY successful & surpising series against the New York Yankees. Now even though Mark Buerhle really struggled today & gave up 6 runs in 5 innings pitched, I’m not that upset mainly because how great Mark has been his last couple starts & also because we took 3 outta 4 in this series. Much more than what I could’ve asked for especially the way we had been playing coming into this series & how hot the Yankees have been lately. Also Detroit got destroyed by Cleveland 11-1 which even more supports my theory that the Tigers are not that good of a team. So we are still only 1.5 games out of 1st and with Alexei injured, & Peavy on the DL I love our chances to still win this divison.

I mean man this kid is UNBELIEVABLE now if you all go back & read my Spring Training reports in march I said he was gonna be special but MAN this kid has the potential to not only be an All-Star but a SUPERSTAR. Now my reasoning for that is this.. he’s only been in the majors not even a full 2 months and is batting .311 with 5 homers & 36 RBI’s also the kid is a natural shortstop but is looking pretty damn impressive at third base. This guy has become a serious Rookie of the Year candiate his only threat would be Pittsburgh’s Andrew McClutchen.

Now my confidence for this series has gotten better considering how well we just played in this past series. Here’s a look at the pitching matchups:
TUESDAY:
John Lackey(7-4 4.00 ERA)
VS.
Jose Contreras(4-10 4.80 ERA)

WENSEDAY:
Sean O’Sullivan(3-0 3.75 ERA)
VS.
Gavin Floyd(8-6 4.07 ERA)

THURSDAY:
Ervin Santana(3-6 7.31 ERA)
VS.
John Danks(9-7 4.00 ERA)
Now after this series the road gets a lil less rocky for my Sox as we have a 15 game stretch against teams we should beat & some potential sweeps like Cleveland, & KC before we head to Boston & The Bronx to play the beasts of the AL East which brings me to my next topic.

New Sox pitcher Jake Peavy was introduced to the media yesterday before the Sox 14-4 rout of the Yankees & today he threw off the mound for the 1st time since the beginning of June and threw 50 pitches a look a lil good. He is still scheduled to return either in the Boston series at the end of the month or the makeup game against the Cubs on Sept.3rd but until next time yall PEACE!!!!!!!!!!!

KENNY “CLUTCH” WILLIAMS DELIVERS ONCE AGAIN!!!!

He came up clutch like MJ  used to do here in the Windy City, with the damn Tigers & Twins acquiring Jarrod Washburn & Orlando Cabrera(respectively) he realed in his big fish Jake Peavy . I was on the way to work when I heard da news & i damn near got into a car accident learning about it LOL I was that excited. Now just like I expected all these national media guy, I don’t wanna name names but….Buster Olney from ESPN hating on this trade. Talkin about “this is a trade for the future, he’s prolly not gonna help this year”, “Can he succeed in the American League”, “Will he be the same after that injury”. I don’t wanna hear it!!!!!! Let me break down the reasons why it can help us this year.
REASONS WHY IT CAN HELP THIS YEAR……
-1st off the White Sox have the best medical  staff in the majors…just look at how fast Jose Contreras came back
-Jake Peavy said he could’ve pitched in San Diego in August but they were gonna shut him down because they were out of the NL West race.
-We have 4 off days in August which means we only need our 5th starter 3 times in that month.
-He will be back for the most important month of the regular season, September &  thats when we play clutch sereis against NY, Boston on the road & the last two weeks of the season we play Detroit twice & Minnesota once AT HOME, and can you imagine the ground we can ground if we are down a couple games & if we are up a couple games with Peavy we can close the casket on them ******** lol
-And we all know that Detroit isn’t good enough to run away with it in august
-If we get in the playoffs we will have the best 4 man rotation in the American League PERIOD
Peavy,Buerhle,Danks,Floyd and anything  can happen.
Now sure we gave up 4 pitchers for him but let’s be real yea Clayton Richard was great his last two starts but the man is hot garbage lol I have been preaching that for the last year on this blog & sure I’m a lil down that we had to give up Aaron Poreda but if that’s what I gotta give up to get a former CY Young pitcher in HIS PRIME & 27 YEARS OLD FOR 3 MORE YEARS AFTER THIS….I’LL TAKE IT

The White Sox won 10-5 last night to make that day even better. We won off a bad appearance by the Yankee’s Sergio Mitre. D.J. Carrasco did pretty good giving us a chance to win. Clutch Homer by Carlos Quentin & a 2-out 2 RBI single by Chris Getz in the 7th sealed the win for us.
WHO WILL PITCH 5TH FOR THE 3 AUGUST STARTS????

Carlos Torres….that’s who I’m rollin wit. He did pretty damn good in his 1st major league outing going 6 innings only giving up 2 runs(which were homers) what was also good is that he didn’t break down when he gave up the homers. I think he would be able to give us some quality starts til Peavy comes.
WHEN I THINK PEAVY WILL MAKE HIS 1ST START…..
Now I think he will make his 1st start September 3rd, Wrigley Field in the makeup game agianst the Cubbies lol wouldn’t that make for a great drama???? The rivalry is already a heated one but to have Peavy have his 1st start against the team that REALLY wanted him lol WHO’S MAD NOW CUBBIES??? LOL UNTIL NEXT TIME YALL PEACE!!!!!

The Crosstown Classic is FINALLY here!!!!!!!! Wuz good world dis ya boi White Sox Real Talk checkin back in with yall after an exciting Sox win. Now the reason I started this blog off with the statement “The Crosstown Classic is finally here” is because despite the fact that we played a series against the Cubs last week the excitement was never really there. I think the reason for that was that Sox/Cubs Round 1 Wrigley was a mid-week series and it took away a lil bit of its luster. But the excitement has been there this weekend baby, in the 1st game of this series the Cubs won(or the umpires won depending on who you talk too lol) a close game 5-4 in a thrilling game but today was the best game of the year between the two clubs. Coming into the game we were expecting a huge pitchers duel between Mark Buerhle & Ryan Dempster but what we got was a back in forth classic. The game started off early when the Sox got on top quickly with a 1-0 lead off a RBI Double by my favorite MLB player Jermaine Dye. Then Scotty Pods started off hot again(I will break down his performance later) extending the Sox lead to 2-0.
ERRORS:

 Errors was one of the mini sub plots of this game as Alexei Ramirez basically gave the Cubs 2 runs off his two errors(his  9th & 10th errors of the season by the way) Gordon Beckham also had 2 errors but he is a rookie so he get’s a pass but not Alexei he knows better. So fast foward to the 8th when Alexei redeemed his self a lil bit with his RBI single to tie the game at 7-7. Then on a 2-2 count with 2 outs and runners 1st & 2nd the rookie stepped up to the plate and won the game for my Southsiders & was mobbed at second base by his teammates.

SCOTTY PODS 4 ALL-STAR!!!!!!!!!

Scotty Pods is having a one of those “Renaissance years” as Shaq likes to call it lol batting well over .300 while going 4 for 5 yesteday with a HR. He has more RBI’s than Milton Bradley who unlike Pods has been playing the whole year. All in all a great win for the Sox as they also gained some ground with the Tigers losing to Houston for the 2nd straight game. Until next time yall….PEACE!!!!!!!!!!!!

ALDS WHITE SOX/RAYS: BATTLE AT THE TROP

Wuz good world, Today Game 1 of the ALDS between my Chicago White Sox and the Tampa Bay Rays tips off at the Trop. I’m feeling kinda lowkey today as i really don’t care if the Sox win this series or not because I don’t expect them to win the title but I HOPE THEY DO. Winning the Central this year was the best i could’ve asked for everything else is just icing on the cake. But with all that being said i do hope my Sox can pull it out. HERE IS MY PREDICTIONS AND NOTES FOR THE SERIES:

MY PICK TO CLICK:KEN GRIFFEY JR.

I don’t know why but i just see JR. having a big series. This is probally the last time he’s gonna have a chance to play for a  AL Pennant or a World Series title so i think that will motivate him to have a good series and also he hit 2 HRs in the Metrodome last week so hopefully that’ll carry into this series in another Dome.

MY PREDICTON: SOX WIN IN 4

Now I usually don’t make postseason predictions cuz ANYTHING can happen but i just feel that experience, hunger,and momentum will be the keys to a white sox series win.

Now don’t get me wrong these guys are a GREAT TEAM but lets face it, they have never been to the playoffs before and they only have 1 guy on their roster with playoff experience(Cliff Floyd). I just think that since the White Sox still have 9 guys from the World Series year and 2 VERY HUNGRY VETERANS in Jim Thome and Ken Griffey Jr. it will get them over the hump. Also the Sox have basically been playing Playoff games for a week now and the Rays haven’t played a meaningfull game in about 10 days so they are rested but the Sox have momentum winning 3 in a row and momentum and experience win in the postseason.

SIDENOTES:

NOW I KNOW THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE SOX/RAYS SERIES BUT I JUST HAD TO MENTION THIS: CUBS FANS GIVE UP HOPE WAYYYY TO EARLY U ONLY LOST 1 GAME ITS NOT THE END OF THE ****** WORLD. HAVE FAITH IN YOUR TEAM IF THEY WIN TONIGHT ITS 1-1 AND A WHOLE NEW BALLGAME SURE IF YOU LOSE YOUR SEASON IS OVER LOL BUT HAVE FAITH PERSONALLY I THINK THE CUBS WILL WIN TODAY AND BY AT LEAST 5 OR 6 RUNS. SEE THIS IS MY PROBLEM WITH CUBS NATION, I DON’T HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE CUBS TEAM PERSONALLY BUT WITH THE FANS CUZ THEY ARE ALL BANDWAGONERS AND ALWAYS PUT MY WHITE SOX DOWN WHEN U SHOULDN’T BE TALKING **** UNTIL YOU WIN ONE. NOW EVERYONE IS WORRIED CUZ THEY LOST 1 GAME BUT WATCH WHEN THE WIN TONIGHT, EVERYONE AND THEY MAMA GON HOP BACK ON THE BLUE BANDWAGON. IT MAKES ME SICK TO MY STOMACH

MY PICKS TO MAKE THE MLB PLAYOFFS

Wuz good this is White Sox Real Talk and im back with my Picks of who’s gonna make the playoffs, leave some comments and see if u agree. First in The American League:

AL EAST  DIVISION WINNER: TAMPA BAY RAYS, Now i pick them cuz these boys are just tough great hitting, great pitching and they play smart ball they remind me of my 2005 White Sox these boys have a never say die attitude, they will hold off the Red Sox.

 AL CENTRAL DIVISION WINNER:CHICAGO WHITE SOX, Now even tho my Sox have been struggling of late i still like our chances and Ozzie isnt gon let these guys just die. They have come WAY too far from last year to let this season go down in flames to the Twinkies so i got us taking it in the last week of the season  and finally give the Twins the Knockout Punch.

 AL WEST DIVISION WINNER: ANAHEIM ANGELS OF LOS ANGELES, No explantion needed why they are the first team in the Majors to clinch Great Power hitting, Great pitching and THEE BEST CLOSER IN THE MAJORS K-ROD!!!

 AL WILD CARD WINNER: BOSTON RED SOX, The world champs are gonna slide their way into the postseason even tho they’re not gonna win the east they are still gonna make major moves in the postseason as long as Josh Beckett can stay healthy.

NOW NATIONAL LEAGUE……

 NL EAST DIVISION WINNER:PHILADEPHIA PHILLIES, They will hold off the NY Mets no doubt in my mind NO ONE CAN STOP RYAN HOWARD RIGHT NOW ….NO ONE ENUFF SAID!!!

 NL CENTRAL DIVISION WINNER: CHICAGO CUBS, Now as much as I hate these ******** the Cubbies are having a great season and are giving Northsiders some hope that it might happen but they still gotta convince me that they can get the job done in  the postseason so it will be intersting to see.

 NL WEST DIVISION WINNER: LOS ANGELES DODGERS, Now before the trade deadline i thought they had NO CHANCE to beat out the D-Backs but then they got MANNY RAMIREZ and he has just been phenomnal batting.400 and just making that team much better.

 NL WILDCARD WINNER: MILWAUKEE BREWERS, Even though they have been jagging games in late innings and had a CRUSHING loss to the Cubbies last night i still like their chances better than the Mets i know both bullpens are bad but Brewers bullpen isnt as HORRIBLE as the Mets so they will get back to the postseason for first time since 1982. If Ben Sheets is Healthy they could make some noise.
